Correctional Officer Marcus Monzon, who joined the department just last year, passed away on December 3, 2025.
Officer Monzon began his service with the department in April 2024 at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center in Galt. After successfully completing the Basic Correctional Officer Academy, he reported to California State Prison–Sacramento (CSP-SAC) in July 2024, where he proudly carried out his duties with professionalism and dedication.
In his time with the department, Officer Monzon made a meaningful impact on colleagues and peers. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and worked alongside him.
