Adam Cockerill, a shareholder and attorney at Koley Jessen, has passed away, leaving colleagues, clients, and the legal community grieving the loss of a highly respected professional and friend.
At Koley Jessen, Adam was recognized for his deep expertise in employee benefits and executive compensation. His practice focused on assisting employers in establishing, administering, merging, and terminating a wide range of qualified retirement plans, including 401(k) plans, defined benefit pension plans, 403(b) plans, and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). He also advised extensively on nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements under Code Section 409A, as well as health plans, cafeteria plans, severance arrangements, separation agreements, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, transportation benefits, and other fringe benefit programs.
Adam’s experience encompassed both defined contribution and defined benefit plans, and he was known for his precision, thoughtfulness, and unwavering commitment to helping clients navigate the complexities of employee benefits law. His work had a lasting impact on organizations and individuals alike.
